Jessica is worried about her boyfriend

Jessica Simpson is worried her boyfriend will never propose.

The singer-and-actress has been dating American football quarterback Tony Romo for around 16 months, and is becoming increasingly frustrated at his unwillingness to commit. A source claims Simpson said: "I know Tony loves me, but I don't know if he'll ever propose." Simpson (28) was convinced Romo, also 28, would pop the question on Valentine's Day and was left devastated when he failed to do so. A source said: "Jessica was really hoping she was going to get an engagement ring.

She wanted one for Christmas, then she thought maybe New Year's Eve. Her last hope was that Tony would propose on Valentine's Day — but he didn't."
The star was also said to be furious after Romo took her for a meal at exclusive New York restaurant The Waverly Inn but spent much of the evening texting on his phone.

A witness said: "Jessica was not happy. He just wasn't picking up on the fact that she was starting to lose her patience." Simpson has been discussing her relationship woes with her 24-year-old sister Ashlee — who has three-month-old son Bronx Mowgli with her husband Pete Wentz — and her friends, who are also concerned Romo will never make her his wife. A source told America's OK! magazine: "Ashlee has always been the more realistic, the more practical of the two sisters. And Ashlee knows how much her sister wants to be married and have a baby of her own. But as wonderful as Tony is, he is not the marrying kind — probably not for years."

Obama overturns Bush policy on stem cells

WASHINGTON – Reversing Bush policy, President Barack Obama on Monday cleared the way for a significant increase in federal dollars for embryonic stem cell research and promised no scientific data will be "distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda." Obama signed the executive order on the divisive stem cell issue and a memo addressing what he called scientific integrity before an East Room audience packed with scientists.

He laced his remarks with several jabs at the way science was handled by former President George W. Bush.
"Promoting science isn't just about providing resources, it is also about protecting free and open inquiry," Obama said. "It is about letting scientists like those here today do their jobs, free from manipulation or coercion, and listening to what they tell us, even when it's inconvenient especially when it's inconvenient. It is about ensuring that scientific data is never distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda and that we make scientific decisions based on facts, not ideology." He said his memorandum is meant to restore "scientific integrity to government decision-making."

He called it the beginning of a process of ensuring his administration bases its decision on sound science; appoints scientific advisers based on their credentials, not their politics; and is
honest about the science behind its decisions.
